In short

What are Bolt developers?

Your Bolt.new app looks good in a demo, but it isn't ready for real customers, payments, or data. Hire senior engineers to keep what works, rebuild what won't hold up, and get it launch-ready.

Where Bolt helps most

  • First versions
  • Admin screens
  • Sign-up flows
  • Turning a demo into a product

How we work

  • The same senior engineers from kickoff to handoff.
  • Weekly progress you can see and try.
  • Every change reviewed by a senior engineer.
  • You own the code, the docs, and the accounts.
Bolt Explained

What Bolt does, and what we do

The AI tool speeds up the build. Senior engineers make the architecture, testing, and release decisions.

WHERE BOLT.NEW HELPS

  • -Builds a working app from a description, in the browser.
  • -Gets you something to click through in a day or two.
  • -Covers the setup work, so you start from something real.
  • -Produces a first draft, not something ready to charge for.

HOW CODIVOX USES BOLT.NEW

  • +We review the draft and tell you what's worth keeping.
  • +We agree what the launched version has to do.
  • +We rebuild the parts that won't survive real use.
  • +We add logins, real data handling, and tests.
  • +You get the code, the docs, and an honest list of what still needs work.

“A Bolt draft is a real head start. Everything that makes it safe to charge for happens after.”

Project fit and ownership

When hiring Bolt.new developers is a good fit

Best when a Bolt draft has proved the idea and now needs to work for real customers.

Good fit

  • You have a Bolt draft, or want one built fast and then made production-ready.
  • You know what the first version has to prove.
  • You want to launch to real customers, not just demo it.
  • You have someone who can make scope decisions.

Not a fit

  • Launching the draft as-is, with no engineering work.
  • Open-ended exploration with no agreed outcome.
  • Expecting guaranteed business results. We commit to the work, not to outcomes.

We choose tools per project: AI speed where it helps, senior review where the risk is. If another tool suits your project better, we'll tell you.

Engagement model

Usually a fixed price to get the draft launch-ready, then a monthly plan if you want ongoing work.

We can take the draft and run with it, or work alongside whoever built it.

Handoff includes

  • The code, with a readable history of what changed.
  • The tests, and what we checked before release.
  • Notes on the key architecture decisions.
  • What we'd do next, in priority order.
Delivery Flow

From fast Bolt work to software you can launch

Bolt gives us a head start. A senior engineer still decides how it's built, reviews it, and signs off the release.

The plan

How a Bolt.new prototype becomes an engineering scope

Senior-led
1

Assess

Prototype

We review the Bolt draft and tell you which parts are worth keeping and which won't hold up.

2

Decide

Architecture

We agree how the launched version will be built: the data, the logins, and what gets rebuilt.

3

Engineer

Production

We rebuild what won't hold up and add real logins and tests. A senior engineer reviews every change.

4

Handoff

Yours

We launch it, move the code into your GitHub, hand over the docs, and recommend what to do next.

Typical deliverables

MVP foundations

Turn a working draft into a product you can launch.

Internal applications

The unglamorous screens your team needs to do the job.

Onboarding flows

The first five minutes, built so people actually finish.

Illustrative scopes

Examples of bounded Bolt.new work

These are typical scopes, not results we're promising for yours. Your quote depends on the draft and what you need it to do.

Bolt.new + React + SupabaseIllustrative scope

Take a Bolt draft to a launch-ready product: real logins, real data handling, and tests.

Bolt.new + Next.js + StripeIllustrative scope

Rebuild the parts that will not survive launch day, and keep the rest.

Bolt.new + React + API integrationIllustrative scope

Turn a demo that works for investors into something customers can use.

Delivery Risk

What changes when a senior engineer leads the work

Writing code faster only helps if your product still works when real users arrive.

BOLT.NEW RISKS TO CONTROL

  • -A draft that looks finished and is not.
  • -Logins that don't actually protect data, so users can see each other's records.
  • -A database structure that's hard to change later.
  • -No tests, so customers find the bugs first.

WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT

  • +We tell you plainly which parts have to be rebuilt.
  • +Logins and permissions checked on the server.
  • +A database structure that can grow with your product.
  • +Tests on the journeys that matter before launch.
Problems Found
// Raw AI output
function handleClick() {
fetch('/api/data')
.then(r => r.json())
}
❌ No error handling❌ No types❌ No validation
Production Ready
// After Codivox review
async function handleClick() {
try {
setLoading(true);
const data = await api.fetch();
validateResponse(data);
} catch (error) {
handleError(error);
}
}
✓ Error handling✓ Type safe✓ Validated

You get speed and reliability.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before hiring Bolt developers

Straight answers on pricing, ownership, and how we work. If yours isn't here, ask us.

How is Bolt different from Lovable or Replit?
Bolt runs in the browser on StackBlitz WebContainers, so there is nothing to install. Lovable is aimed at web apps and pairs closely with Supabase. Replit gives you a full cloud workspace with hosting. All three change quickly, so we pick based on what you are building.
What happens to the code after Bolt generates it?
We move it into a Git repository, tidy it so it is easy to change, add tests and automatic checks, and release it on proper hosting. You end up with a codebase your own team can work on.
Is Bolt open source?
Partly. StackBlitz has published open-source code for Bolt, and a community version called bolt.diy grew out of it. The hosted bolt.new service is a separate paid product with its own terms, so check the current details. We use the hosted product for drafts and do the engineering in Git.
How much does it cost to hire Bolt developers?
Most projects are a fixed price for an agreed scope, so you know the cost before work starts. The price depends on how many screens and features you need, what it connects to (payments, CRMs, other APIs), and your deadline. As a reference point, MVP builds start at $1,999 and ongoing monthly work at $2,999 per month. After a free call, you get a written plan and a quote.
Who owns the code?
You do, from day one. The code, the documentation, and the accounts are yours. We work as your delivery team, and nothing is locked to us.
What happens in the first week?
We review the code (or your idea), agree what's in scope and what isn't, flag the main risks, and give you a plan with dates. Building starts once you're happy with it.
