In short

What are Kiro developers?

Kiro turns what you describe into a written spec and a task list. Senior engineers check that the spec is right, then own the build, the tests, and the release.

Where Kiro helps most

  • Work that needs a written spec
  • Bigger features
  • AWS-based products
  • Teams who want the plan in writing first

How we work

  • The same senior engineers from kickoff to handoff.
  • Weekly progress you can see and try.
  • Architecture and code decisions documented as we go.
  • You own the code, the docs, and the accounts.
Kiro Explained

What Kiro does, and what we do

The AI tool speeds up the build. Senior engineers make the architecture, testing, and release decisions.

WHAT KIRO DOES

  • -Turns what you describe into a written spec, user stories, and a task list.
  • -Works through those tasks as an agent, rather than one suggestion at a time.
  • -Can trigger set jobs automatically when code changes.
  • -Keeps the plan and the code in sync, so the spec doesn't go out of date.
  • -Works well with AWS services if your product already runs there.

HOW WE USE KIRO

  • +Week 1: agree the spec, so you can read exactly what we're about to build.
  • +Weeks 1-2: let Kiro work through the task list while an engineer reviews each part.
  • +Weeks 2-3: strengthen the build, add tests, and set up automated checks.
  • +Before release: test the key user journeys, fix what we find, and prepare a rollback plan.
  • +Handover: the spec, the decisions, a clean history, and what we would do next.

“Kiro is good at turning an idea into a plan. A senior engineer is what makes sure the plan was right.”

Best Use Cases

When Kiro is the right pick

Kiro is strongest when you want to agree exactly what gets built before anyone builds it.

Bigger features

AWS-based products

Teams who want the plan in writing first

We choose tools per project: AI speed where it helps, senior review where the risk is. If another tool suits your project better, we'll tell you.

Delivery Flow

From fast Kiro work to software you can launch

Kiro gives us a head start. A senior engineer still decides how it's built, reviews it, and signs off the release.

The plan

How we deliver Kiro projects

Senior-led
1

Spec Generation

Plan

Kiro turns what you need into a written spec: requirements with acceptance criteria, a design, and a task list. You read it before any code.

2

Agent Execution

Kiro

Kiro works through the task list, and hooks run set jobs such as tests or doc updates. An engineer checks each step.

3

Senior Review

Human

A senior engineer checks how it is built, covers the edge cases, and holds it to production standards.

4

Ship

Deploy

We release it with automatic checks and monitoring, and hand over the spec and the notes.

Typical deliverables

Spec to Shipped

Go from a written spec to working software you can use.

Codebase Modernization

Bring an older codebase up to date, one safe step at a time.

Builds on AWS

Work that fits the AWS setup you already pay for.

Example scopes

Examples of Kiro work we take on

These are typical scopes, not results from a specific client. We'll scope yours on a free call before you commit.

Kiro + Next.js + AWS Lambda3 weeks

Turn a written spec into a working booking flow, with tests included.

Kiro + React + DynamoDB4 weeks

Rebuild a data-heavy dashboard so the team can stop exporting to spreadsheets.

Kiro + TypeScript + Supabase2 weeks

Automate a nightly job that people currently run by hand.

Delivery Risk

What changes when a senior engineer leads the work

Writing code faster only helps if your product still works when real users arrive.

WHAT GOES WRONG WITHOUT US

  • -Fast early progress, then weeks lost to clean-up.
  • -Architecture decisions made ad hoc and never written down.
  • -New features breaking things that used to work.
  • -No tests on the journeys that matter most, like sign-up and payments.
  • -The next developer has to work out how it all fits together.

WHAT YOU GET WITH US

  • +Steady weekly progress, with fewer things breaking between releases.
  • +Architecture decisions written down in plain English.
  • +Releases you can roll back if something goes wrong.
  • +Tests on your core user journeys before each release.
  • +Maintainable code your own team can pick up and extend.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before hiring Kiro developers

Straight answers on pricing, ownership, and how we work. If yours isn't here, ask us.

How is Kiro different from Cursor or Copilot?
Kiro can start from a spec. It writes requirements, a design, and a task list before it writes code, then works through the tasks as an agent. Cursor and Copilot are mostly used for help inside the editor while you code. We use Kiro when the job benefits from agreeing the plan in writing first.
Do I need an AWS account to work with Kiro developers?
No. Kiro comes from AWS, but at the time of writing you can sign in without an AWS account, and the code it writes can run anywhere. We use it on projects hosted on Vercel, Supabase, and other platforms as well as AWS.
What are Kiro agent hooks and how do you use them?
Hooks are automations that run when something happens in your project, such as saving, creating, or deleting a file. We set them up for jobs like updating tests or docs, and an engineer reviews what they produce. What hooks can react to may change as Kiro develops.
How much does it cost to hire Kiro developers?
Most projects are a fixed price for an agreed scope, so you know the cost before work starts. The price depends on how many screens and features you need, what it connects to (payments, CRMs, other APIs), and your deadline. As a reference point, MVP builds start at $1,999 and ongoing monthly work at $2,999 per month. After a free call, you get a written plan and a quote.
Who owns the code?
You do, from day one. The code, the documentation, and the accounts are yours. We work as your delivery team, and nothing is locked to us.
What happens in the first week?
We review the code (or your idea), agree what's in scope and what isn't, flag the main risks, and give you a plan with dates. Building starts once you're happy with it.
