Want a law firm website that books consultations?

Bring this score to a senior engineer. We'll turn these fixes into a trustworthy, high-converting site that ranks for your practice areas.

Methodology

Sample. 276 U.S. law-firm homepages sourced from organic search results across ~30 states and 12+ practice areas (personal injury, criminal defense, family/divorce, immigration, estate planning, bankruptcy, employment, workers' comp, real estate, business, tax, IP, elder law, Social Security disability, medical malpractice). Directories and aggregators (Justia, Avvo, Expertise, etc.) were excluded. The sample skews toward small and mid-sized firms in mid-sized metros — i.e., our target market. 238 were successfully graded; 38 could not be fetched (see below).

Scoring. Each homepage scores on the Law Firm Website Grader's six weighted categories (see table). A category score is the share of its signals present; the overall score is the weighted sum. Grades: A ≥ 90, B ≥ 80, C ≥ 65, D ≥ 50, else F.

Detection. Signals are detected in homepage HTML using the same patterns as the Codivox website analyzer, plus law firm-specific heuristics.
